Ewi Legend, Alhaji ‘Lanrewaju Adepoju, is in joyous mood as he got help from an unexpected quarters.
He was almost losing hope when ace broadcaster, Kola Olotu, who is currently on pilgrimage in the Holy land of Makkah, succeeded in raising the sum of N10 million for the operation.
For many months, he had cried out for financial support to enable him operate his eyes which are almost going blind.
Any moment from now, he will be moved to India where his eyes would be operated.
Olotu, insideoyo.com learnt, had solicited support for Adepoju during one of his weekly programme on a private radio station in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
It was learnt that though some concerned Nigerians have been crediting Adepoju’s account before one Mr Abiodun Paseda, who is the CEO/Founder of Focus On Disability Foundation, a UK-registered charity organisation, quickly dropped his own contribution.
Moved to tears after listening to Olootu’s programme, Paseda was said to have went ahead to inform the grand patron of his charity organisation, Rev.Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi who is the Senior Pastor of Love of Christ Generation Church Cherubim & Seraphim UK.
The woman, it was gathered, agreed to pay the total amount and other expenses to assist the Ewi Legend to travel to India as urgent as possible.
According to Paseda :” I told Rev.Mother Ajayi about Baba Lanrewaju Adepoju’s health problem last week and she responded immediately by paying for his full eye surgery, flight tickets and accommodation to India. I also spoke with Baba Adepoju and Bro Kola Olootu on this matter. I always love to stick my reputation on a worthy cause like this type. I appreciate all the donors.”
Mr Abiodun Paseda has also assisted many physically challenged people in Nigeria with cash, learning materials, wheelchairs and medical treatments through his Charity organisation since close to 10 years.
