The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ibadan, a premier organization of young active citizens committed to creating positive change, hosted its 58th Convention and Investiture Ceremony on Saturday, 25th October 2025 at La Ville Event Centre, Ibadan.
‎
‎The event marked the official transition of leadership and celebrated the investiture of the 49th President, JCIN Ambassador Oluwaseun Ayedogbon, who succeeded JCIN Ambassador Olajumoke Adelabu, the 2025 President, JCI Ibadan.
‎
‎This year’s convention, themed “The Power of Strategy: Raising the Bar of Excellence,” emphasized the role of strategic thinking and effective execution in driving sustainable impact and organizational growth.
‎
‎The Chairman of the Occasion, JCI Senator Olanrewaju Sulaimon, Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Governor of Oyo State and 2003 President of JCI Ibadan, lauded the organization for its consistent contribution to leadership development, civic engagement, and youth empowerment in Oyo State and beyond. He commended JCI Ibadan’s continued relevance and urged the new administration to uphold the legacy of excellence and impact built over the years.
‎
‎Delivering the theme session, Mrs. Odunayo Sanya, Executive Director at MTN Foundation, spoke extensively on the importance of execution as the bridge between strategy and success. She encouraged young leaders to go beyond crafting strategies and to focus on actionable steps that ensure meaningful outcomes. According to her, “Strategy without execution remains a vision on paper; execution transforms vision into value.”
‎
‎In her presidential report for the year, JCIN Amb. Olajumoke Adelabu expressed gratitude to her board members, JCI members, and partners who supported her throughout her tenure. She outlined the organization’s achievements during the year with reflection on how the bar was raised. She urged the new leadership to maintain JCI Ibadan’s tradition of innovation and impact.
‎
‎In his inaugural address, JCIN Amb. Oluwaseun Ayedogbon, the newly installed 49th President, thanked members of JCI Ibadan for their trust and confidence. He pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessor and unveiled his administration’s mission – to amplify impact with focus areas, which include to; “Amplify our stories; Magnify visibility; Deepen partnerships with businesses, government, and changemakers; Empower members through practical trainings and opportunities that deliver growth; Measure results in real change and communities transformed.”
‎
‎The well-attended ceremony brought together past presidents, government officials, local organization presidents from JCI Nigeria, as well as executives and members of JCI Ibadan. The atmosphere was filled with celebration, reflection, and a renewed commitment to excellence.
‎
‎As JCI Ibadan ushers in a new administrative year, members and guests alike departed with a shared resolve to keep raising the bar of excellence through strategy, action, and service to humanity.
