The lawmaker representing Kajola state constituency in Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akeem Mustapha has emerged winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election in the constituency.
The primary election was held on Saturday at the Kajola Local Government, Meseole Okeho.
According to Mr. Sulaimon Bola, who is the returning officer at the election, declared Hon. Akeem Mustapha the winner of the primary election after receiving 33 out out 34 votes.
The Returning Officer thanked God and the good people of Kajola state constituency for their support and cooperation before, during and after election.
In his address shortly after he was declared winner, Hon. Mustapha, thanked the leadership of the party both in the state and local government and all members for their commitment towards the progress of PDP in the constituency.
While commending the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his wisdom and knowledge in running the affairs of the state and the party, Hon. Mustapha extended his appreciation to the delegates and party loyalists for the maturity and peaceful conduct exhibited throughout the exercise.
The lawmaker, who is the Chairman House Committee on Public Finance and Appropriation, charged them to continue to work in unity for the growth and progress of the party.
He called on others aspirants to join hands with him to work for the party to ensure emergence of Governor Seyi Makinde and all candidates of the party in the 2023 general elections.
Hon. Mustapha, therefore, assured all PDP members and the people of Kajola state constituency that he will continue to be a good ambassador by ensuring quality representation at the state’s House of Assembly.
