Secondary school students in Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State on Wednesday morning trooped out to welcome the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo state and former governor of the state, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala.
The students staged a surprise for the gubernatorial candidate who passed through Iseyin as part of his campaign tour of the Oke Ogun zone of the state.
Alao-Akala who was overwhelmed by the unexpected reception, stepped down to greet the pupils and urged them to focus on their studies as it is the gateway to a better tomorrow.
“I am surprised at what you did for me this morning; I am overwhelmed and I can only thank you for this honour. I pray that God will honour you and you will all be great on this earth and be worthy ambassadors of our great state.
“I want you to be good morally and never forget the child of whom you are. You are the future of this state and we are proud of you. I urge you to be diligent in your academics and shun any act that will truncate your destiny and glorious future,” Alao-Akala stated.
The students through one of their school mate, Ayanwale Munirat, also presented to the ADP candidate, the award of Best Governorship Candidate 2019 in Oyo state.
