It was a parade of the who-is-who in Nigeria and beyond as Ifetedo-born legal luminary, Mallam Yusuf Ali held the Fidau of his father, Alhaji Bisiriyu Olayiwola Ali, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
It would be recalled that the late father of the Ife-trained lawyer was a civil servant who was said to have devoted his active days to agriculture and agricultural extension services at the Moore Plantation, Ibadan. After 30 years of meritorious service, he devoted his life to Islam, family and community services – in Ibadan and Ifetedo.
Alhaji Bisiriyu’s outstanding performances at social, religious and communal platforms attracted many traditional and religious titles, which he humbly rejected.
At the event which took place at the Ibadan Recreation Club, Ibadan were Governor Abiola Ajimobi, former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State, former Inspector General of Police, Sunday Ehindero,
The president of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud was represented by the General Secretary , Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, A. A Adegboye, Murtala Abdul Rasheed, Mr. Dele Abass, Mr.Kazeem Nazir, Ms. Rebecca Udosen, Umar Gezewa and Omololu Kassim.
The list of senior advocates includes the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief (Mrs)Folake Solanke(SAN), Chief Niyi Akintola(SAN) Chief Adegboyega. Awomolo(SAN), and a good number of NBA members drawn from various states especially the South West axis of the country.
The National Missioner/Chief Imam of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Sheikh (Alhaji)Abdul-Rahman Ahmad, who delivered the sermon advised everybody to be mindful of their behaviour, adding that every soul would taste death.
A whole lot of other clerics drawn from Ibadan, Ilorin, Osun, Lagos and Abuja prayed for the repose of the deceased.
Ali, who is based in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, thanked people for praying for the family.
