The former Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka, has expressed his heartfelt condolences over the passing of Chief Yekini Adeojo, a renowned politician and former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement, Chief Ilaka described Chief Adeojo as a true leader, mentor, and guiding force in Oyo State and Nigerian politics.
“Chief Yekini Adeojo was more than just a political leader; he was a father, mentor, and guiding force in Oyo State and Nigerian politics. His exemplary leadership shaped the future of many in the PDP and Oyo State,” he said.
Chief Ilaka, who is also the Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom, recalled his personal relationship with Chief Adeojo, which he said was rooted in love, respect, and a shared vision for the progress of Oyo State and its people. “My relationship with Chief Adeojo was rooted in love, respect, and a shared vision for the progress of our people. Under his tutelage, I learned the true meaning of serving the people, and I owe much of my political journey to his mentorship,” he noted.
Chief Ilaka praised Chief Adeojo’s wisdom, courage, and commitment to democratic ideals, which he said drove the party’s success and the state’s progress. “His wisdom, courage, and unwavering commitment to democratic ideals were the driving forces behind the success of our party and the progress we made as a state,” he said.
Chief Ilaka prayed that Chief Adeojo’s soul finds eternal peace and that his family, the PDP, and Oyo State find strength during this difficult time. “As we mourn the passing of this great son of the soil, I pray that his soul finds eternal peace and that his family, the PDP, and Oyo State find strength during this difficult time,” he said.
