The Ladilu of Oyo kingdom and former Chief of Staff to the Governor of Oyo state, Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka, has expressed sadness over the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadan-Land, Oba Mohood Olalekan Alli Okunmade II.
Ilaka, in the statement made available by his Aide on Digital Communication, Kehinde Owolabi, on Friday described the late monarch as a seasoned administrator, grassroots reformer, family friend and political compatriot who worked meritoriously serving the nation as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the 4th National Assembly before becoming the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
While commiserating with the immediate family of the deceased, the good people of Ibadan land and government of Oyo state over the sad demise, Ilaka said “The Late Olalekan Alli was a man of peace, a radical thinker and an original working class hero and we shall all miss him.”
He prayed to God to count the soul of the late Olubadan of Ibadan land among the righteous ones in Aljannah Firdaus.
He added that God should give his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
