The Chairman of the Ido Local Government Area, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, has commissioned a borehole project at Elewe village, Ward 3 area of the council.
Adeojo, while performing the commissioning, on Thursday, stated that the water project would reduce the long-time stress of scouting for water within the entire village.
He further maintained that the project was in line with vision of the state governor, Engnr ‘Seyi Makinde, who is very passionate about the welfare of the people of the state and want the best for them.
Adeojo, who used his personal resources to mobilise a number of councillors and other office holders to the event, charged the community to put the facility to effective use and manage it properly.
He said: “As we all know, water is as important as life. This will bring life to the people of this area, as they won’t have to buy and scout around for water anymore. I believe they now have access to treated water.
“Also, this water projects will also be beneficial to them because it will help them during dry seasons to reduce their stress of struggling to get water. It will help to provide quality access to consumption of potable water in the community.
“So, there is a need for them to good maintenance culture so that they will benefit from it for a long term, and when it develops fault, they can call us to help them out.”
Residents of the village, who expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the Council and the governor for the ease brought to them, prayed for the progress of the current administration in the state.
They, however, vowed to come out en masse to vote for the reelection of the governor and other PDP House of Assembly candidates.
Among those present at the event were Ayuba Olabamiji, the chairman of the local government area; Hon Isiaka Adeola, the former chairman and lawmaker; Ward 3 Councillor, Rafiu Omotosho; Supervisory Councillor for Works and HLGA, Dr Mrs Ojo Agnes; Director of Works, Mr Ogundele and a host of other party faithful.
