Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as DoN, has emerged as the consensus candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election.
The development comes after other aspirants graciously stepped down and pledged their full support to Oyekunle’s candidacy.
The consensus arrangement was reached at a high-level meeting with Governor Makinde and the aspirants vying for the party ticket.
Notable PDP leaders and stakeholders attended the meeting, including former Deputy Governor Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi, Senior Executive Assistant Chief Bayo Lawal, and Oyo State PDP Party Secretary Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke.
Oyekunle is a former lawmaker who represented Ibadan North I state constituency at the Oyo state House of Assembly.
