The Ibadan Country Club has extended its heartfelt condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde, following the sudden demise of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
Engineer Makinde passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving behind a grieving family, including Governor Makinde, children, and grandchildren.
In a condolence message signed by Dr Olaoluwa Adegoke the President and Mr Mosobaleje Adebiyi the General secretary of the cub expressed there sadness over the loss, describing Engineer Makinde as a respected figure.
The club prayed for the repose of his soul and asked God to grant Governor Makinde and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of Engineer Sunday Makinde’s demise.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Governor Seyi Makinde and the entire Makinde’s family during this difficult time.”the statement read.
The Ibadan Country Club’s condolences come as various individuals and groups, including political leaders and community members, have been paying tribute to Engineer Makinde and offering support to Governor Makinde and his family.
