Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, is a man whose commitment to the development of Oyo State is unparalleled. Over the years, he has leveraged his personal resources to uplift thousands of people across the state, contributing significantly to its socio-economic fabric. As Oyo State looks ahead to the 2027 gubernatorial election, there is a growing chorus of voices from various individuals and groups calling for Sanusi to step forward and lead the state. His track record as a selfless benefactor, a grassroots developer, and a unifier positions him as the ideal candidate to take Oyo State to unprecedented heights.

A Legacy of Grassroots Development and Community Empowerment

Jubril Dotun Sanusiโ€™s deep understanding of grassroots development is evident in his numerous initiatives that have directly impacted the lives of the common people. His contributions go beyond philanthropy; they are strategic investments in the future of Oyo State. One of his most notable initiatives is the Ilaji Football League, a groundbreaking project that has united all zones of the stateโ€”Ibarapa, Oyo, Ogbomoso, Oke Ogun, and Ibadanโ€”under a common goal of youth development and community building.

The Ilaji Football League, sponsored entirely by Sanusi, brought together monarchs from each local government to coordinate and oversee the league in their respective zones. This novel approach not only fostered unity among the diverse regions of Oyo State but also strengthened the bonds between traditional rulers and their communities. The involvement of revered monarchs like the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, the late Soun of Ogbomoso, and the late Alaafin of Oyo in this initiative is a testament to Sanusi’s native intelligence and his deep understanding of how governance can be entrenched at the grassroots level.

The league culminated in a grand final at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, where talents from across the 33 local governments showcased their skills. The most promising players were trained at Ilaji and have since secured contracts with European football clubs, thanks to Sanusi’s efforts. This initiative has not only provided these young athletes with opportunities for exposure and greener pastures but has also set the stage for them to return home and contribute to the development of future talents. This cycle of empowerment and productivity is the hallmark of Sanusi’s vision for wealth creation and sustainable development in Oyo State.

A Visionary Leader with Proven Qualities

Jubril Dotun Sanusi possesses all the qualities of an exceptional leader. His visionary approach to development, combined with his hands-on involvement in community projects, makes him uniquely qualified to govern Oyo State. He understands the importance of fostering unity and harmony among the state’s diverse zones, and his initiatives have consistently brought people together for the greater good.

Sanusiโ€™s leadership style is characterized by his ability to connect with people at all levels of society. He is not just a benefactor; he is a leader who listens, understands, and acts. His dedication to the welfare of his people is evident in the countless projects he has funded, from electrification efforts to education and healthcare initiatives. Sanusiโ€™s impact on the local economy cannot be overstated; his investments in infrastructure and human capital have created jobs, improved living standards, and positioned Oyo State as a beacon of progress.

A Call to Leadership

As the 2027 gubernatorial election approaches, there is no doubt that Jubril Dotun Sanusi is the leader Oyo State needs. His deep roots in the community, his proven track record of service, and his visionary approach to governance make him the ideal candidate to build on the achievements of the current administration and take the state to new heights. Sanusi’s commitment to grassroots development, his ability to unite people from diverse backgrounds, and his unwavering dedication to the progress of Oyo State are the qualities that have earned him the respect and admiration of stakeholders across the state.

The call for Sanusi to run for the governorship is not just a reflection of his past accomplishments; it is a recognition of his potential to shape the future of Oyo State. If given the chance to serve, there is no doubt that Jubril Dotun Sanusi will lead Oyo State into an era of unprecedented growth and development, ensuring that the state remains a leader in Nigeria’s socio-economic landscape.
