Popular social activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has lamented over the ways the state government is handling Amotekun recruitment.
Igboho stated this in an interview with BBC Yoruba while reacting to the formation of Amotekun in Oyo state.
He criticized the state government for making the process of employing Amotekun corps online.
“How can government recruit graduates to fight bandits, kidnappers, do they have gun antidote? Where are the hunters, the OPC?
“We would have like government to hands off, give us approval and support us if they want?
” With all that, they should now watch us performing our tasks with supports of Yoruba leaders and elders,” he told BBC.
The social activist, however, said he is ready to join forces with the Amotekun to battle criminals, if only there is an oath.
His argument was supported by the president of Hunters Association in the state, Nureni Ajijola, who applauded oath taking as important part of joining Amotekun.
