The Hope Orphanage Home, an initiative dedicated to providing shelter, education, and emotional support for vulnerable children, was officially inaugurated at its premises in Oluwo Kekere Estate, Bashorun, Ibadan.
Barrister Oluwatoyin Togun, in his welcome address, shared how the inspiration for the home was divinely received and how the journey began with its official registration in 2018. He welcomed all attendees and expressed gratitude for their presence.
In her address, the Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Tosin Togun, shared the inspiring story behind the establishment of the orphanage. She revealed that the vision started 17 years ago as a divine mandate to raise children from challenging backgrounds and help them prepare for a brighter future. She emphasized the orphanage’s mission to provide a nurturing environment for children and called for public support through donations, volunteering, and advocacy.
“We are committed to leaving these destinies better than we met them,” Mrs. Togun stated.
Representing the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Mrs. Toyin Balogun, the Director of Child Welfare, Mr. Gbemileke Ojerinde, praised the initiative. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting the orphanage through regular monitoring, guidance, and collaboration.
“The Oyo State government prioritizes the welfare of its children and commends this vision for creating a nurturing environment,” he said.
In a brief exhortation, Pastor Matthew Olaki, Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church, Eleyele, Ibadan described the project as a spiritual milestone and prayed for the orphanage to become a sanctuary for transforming children’s lives.
Goodwill messages were delivered by several dignitaries, including Dr. Matthew Oluwasupo of the Community Chess Council, who called for increased government support for similar organizations. Pastor Precious Denton, the Assistant Secretary of State for Orphanage Homes, also commended the founder’s dedication and urged stakeholders to support the project wholeheartedly.
The highlight of the event was the ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the commissioner’s representative, followed by a tour of the facility to assess its readiness to house and support children.
Among the notable personalities present were Dr. Bukunmi Orimolade-Eso, Head of the Board of Trustees, members of the Hope for Generations Ministry, the Board of Trustees, and leaders from various social organizations.
