The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state has described its former gubernatorial candidate and three-term member of the National Assembly, Sen. Teslim Kolawole Folarin, as a quintessential patriot whose impact on the nation’s democracy could not be under-estimated.
Folarin who clocked 60 years today is the Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadanland. He was the Senate Leader between 2007 and 2011 during his second term as the lawmaker representing Oyo Central senatorial district at the Red Chamber while he is the immediate past Chairman, Senate Committee on Local Content. He came second in the last Oyo state governorship election which he contested on the platform of the APC.
Oyo APC said, in a congratulatory message contained in a statement issued in Ibadan and made available to journalists, that Sen. Folarin has carved a niche for himself as one of the few courageous, humble and patriotic democrats in the country who deserves to be celebrated by the discerning Nigerians especially those who believe in constitutional democracy and the rule of law.
“As we join a multitude of friends, associates and supporters to celebrate Sen. Folarin on this August occasion, we encourage him to remain steadfast in championing the cause of participatory democracy, rule of law and good governance in the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians.
“We wish the Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadanland a happy birthday and many happy returns of the day”. Oyo APC stated.
