The Federal Government has approved the appointment of Dr. Rauf Salami as the new Provost of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo.
He will take over from Prof. Kamoru Olayiwola USMAN who will end his two terms of 8 years on July 20, 2023.
Insideoyo.com reports that the new provost has gotten his letter of appointment.
About Dr. Rauf Salami
Dr. Salami who hailed from Saki in Oyo State was born on December 27, 1964. He is an alumnus of the College, where he obtained NCE in Education for Learning Disabilities/Biology.
He later attended University of Jos and bagged B.Ed. Special Education (Learning Disabilities) with Second Class Honours (Upper Division). In his quest for more knowledge, he proceeded to the premier University, the University of Ibadan where he bagged M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Special Education (Reading Disabilities).
The Provost Designate joined the services of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo on January 15, 2002 as Lecturer III, he rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer in 2017.
He has held several positions in the College such as Head of Department of Education for Learners with Learning Disabilities, Director, National Resource Centre for the Disabled (NRCD), Teaching Practice Coordinator, Director, Directorate of ICT among several others.
He has also served as Chairman and Member of various Standing and Adhoc Committees in the College.
Dr. Salami has published articles widely in reputable local, national and international Journals. He has authored many books and contributed meaningful chapters in some books in his area of specialisation. He has also attended many conferences and seminars/workshops globally, some of which he presented scholarly papers.
