The Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Moore Plantation Ibadan is set for its 57th Founder’s day.
Provost of the college Dr Adekoya Owosibo, announced this while speaking with our correspondent.
Owosibo noted that the institution which was founded in 1964 would be 57 this year and will be celebrating founder’s day for the first time
He said, “My name is Dr Adekoya Owosibo, Provost Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Ibadan.
“I assumed office on 27th August, 2020.”
Owosibo while speaking further added that the school which was then referred to as school of Animal Health and Husbandry was founded on the 1st of April, 1964 by the defunct Western region and USAID.
He added that the aim of the institution was to meet the need to train Livestock Assistants in order to cope with the ever increasing demand for assistance in the practice of Veterinary profession.

He maintained that as part of the activities for the 57th Founder’s day, a lecture would be held in the college, also different form of Award will be given to deserving Alumni, farmers and some members of staff.
He remarked that the lecture with the theme, “Nigeria: Food security, internal security and feedlot system”, would be delivered by Professor E.A. Iyayi.
Professor Iyayi is the Registrar, Nigeria Institute of Animal Science. The occasion would be graced by eminent personalities in the field of Agriculture and beyond.
