A former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Oyo state, Chief Bayo Lawal has emerged as the Oyo North senatorial district candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), sources within the party told www.insideoyo.com on Saturday.
Bayo Lawal hails from Kisi, Irepo local government in the Oke Ogun Area of Oyo State.
Although the party is yet to make official announcement but sources say Chief Lawal’s name has been included in the party candidates’ list.
Recall that insideOYO.com had earlier reported how the Kisi-born lawyer expressed his confidence about the victory of the party in the forthcoming general key elections.
“I’m one of the stakeholders of the party in Oyo state. I’m one of the recipient of the party in Oyo state. It’s the party that is going to form the next government of Oyo state. I know the strength of the party.
“You can see that many people are still joining the party. And indeed, it has become a party for all and sundry.” he had said.
With his emergence, he is expected to slug it out with APC’s Fatai Buhari, PDP’s Mulikat Akande and other candidates from other political parties at the 2019 general election.
