A former governorship aspirant of the Advanced Allied Party (AAP) in the 2019 governorship election in Oyo State, Reverend Adenike Tade, popularly known as Mama Empowerment, has said that admission into higher institutions without corresponding job creation has resulted in mass unemployment and social vices in Nigeria.
Reverend Adenike Tade made this known on Saturday, during a dedication of her book titled “Nurture Youths To Stay”, and Launching of 500 Million Entrepreneurship Fund for the youth held in Oluyole, Ibadan.
Speaking at the event, Mama Empowerment said the N500 million endowment fund for the youths was part of her vision to cushion the negative effects of unemployment, poverty, crime, and other deviant behaviors among the youths.
“I believe in youths and I have been working together with the youths for 24 years now. My book, ‘Nurture Youths To Stay’ is all about how we can work on our youths by giving them accurate training and adding values to their lives that will make them to love the society because we are aware of the fact that youths of nowadays don’t love the society because of how they are treated.
“If you really want to love the youth, you have to introduce entrepreneurship to them as one of their major problem is unemployment. So, I am using today to inaugurate what I called N500 million entrepreneurship fund which is a plan to create jobs for the youths.” she said.
Mama empowerment added that she is not doing the program for political reason as she is keen in ensuring that youth are gracefully impacted with skills to survive the storm of unemployment in the country.
“I have been doing this before I joined politics in 2019 and I joined because of the youths because if I don’t join, they will not join. For the past 24 years, I have empowering people and just imagine me joining politics in 2019. So I don’t have any political ambition and iy may not take any political move come 2023. This is all for the love for our youths.”
Mr Victor Tade Olugbega, Husband of the celebrant, in his word, said it is very important for every husband to support their wife so far they are ordained as one by the Almighty God and this is exactly why he is proud of his wife achievement and he is keen in ensuring her progress in all ramifications.
“Everything is all about sacrifice and behind every successful man, there must be a woman and same goes to every successful woman out there. I ensure I gave all the support in fulfilling her ambitions and here we are today, celebrating her success which I am very happy with.” he said.
