Things didn’t go as planned for a Former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in Oyo State, Honourable Ayobami Ojo and his ally, Mr Tunde Adeduntan on Saturday, in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The duo allegedly gathered political touts at the premises of a popular radio station in Ibadan, in the name of Otunba Seye Famojuro, a close ally to Governor Seyi Makinde to attack the chairman of ATISBO local government, Honourable Bashir Olumuyiwa Alade.
Upon hearing the information, Otunba Seye Famojuro drove down to the venue to ascertain the situation of things.
While speaking, he denied hiring touts to attack the chairman.
Otunba Seye said he has never met nor seen those who wanted to use his name to perpetrate the evil act adding that he didn’t know the ATISBO LG chairman nor have anything to do with him.
His word: “I want to use this medium to admonish people to be law abiding. For me as a person, I can’t send political touts to attack members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, despite being the opposition talk less of attacking members of APM or even a council chairman for that matter.
“Let me also urge our people to ensure and play decent politics among ourselves because election will come and go.”
Otunba Seye Famojuro invited the chairman, Tunde Adeduntan and others for a peace meeting.
The meeting didn’t end well as Tunde Adeduntan refused to let the issue be settled amicable with his disrespectful and insolent attitude.
He has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
This move to attack the chairman is coming after a similar attempt to attack him in Ago Are by political touts loyal to the former commissioner.
Political touts loyal to the former commissioner disrupted APM Ward 7 and 8 meeting in Ago Are when hosting the House of Representatives Candidate, Hon Niyi Adebisi for an interactive session.
The penetrators of the attack are at large up till date.
In his response, the chairman said under his leadership in ATISBO LGA, he won’t condone lawlessness.
He added that those that have grievances should seek dialogue and peaceful reconciliation and not violence.
He thanked party leaders and stakeholders in ATISBO LGA for their support since the commencement of his administration.
He added that the level of development ATISBO LGA has witnessed during the Governor Seyi Makinde-led regime is unprecedented.
He thanked the Governor for putting the people of ATISBO LGA and Oke Ogun generally at heart.
