The First Lady of Oyo state, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde has, on Friday, played host to women from all the divisions of the state, charging them to use the festive period to reflect and share gifts with people.
Mrs. Makinde made the call during the End-of-Year Party organised for women in the state at Government House, Ibadan, the state capital.
In her words: “We should use this period to reflect on what we have been through this year. We should be thankful and also use this moment to share with others no matter how little. It is important that we maximize this period. We shouldn’t depise humble beginnings, nothing is to small to share.”
Presenting food items and cash to women, Mrs Makinde appreciated her husband, Governor Seyi Makinde for providing the items to be distributed and making impacts in their lives.
She said: “I appreciate my husband, Engr Seyi Makinde for providing these items for the women. We decided to show love towards women because we know how important they are. Caring for women means caring for everybody that is why we are doing this today.”
While responding to the kind gestures of the Governor’s wife, one of the beneficiaries, Lady Evangelist Seyifunmi Adesope said: “I’m very excited by the gesture of the wife of our governor. She has never disappointed in giving gifts every year. I pray that the lord will continue to bless her abundantly.”
Another beneficiary, the wife of the Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Mrs Jimoh Ajarah also appreciated the Governor’s wife for the gesture.
She said: “I appreciate our mother for these gifts of food items and cash. We are indeed grateful for her kind gestures we pray that she will never lack.
Dignitaries present at the event includes the wife of the Deputy Governor of the State, Mrs Ajibola Ajibike Lawal, the Secretary to the state government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, Commissioner for Special duties, Alhaja Joke Sanni, Director General, Due Process, Ms Tara Adefowope, among others.
