As the preparation towards the gubernatorial election in Ekiti State is at its peak, the initiator of Olatoye Sugar Foundation and a gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo state, Hon. Dr. Olatoye Temitope Sugar has called for peaceful, free, fair and credible election that will reflect the desires of the people.
This was made known in a statement made available to the press on Friday which was jointly signed by Honorable Sugar’s Head of Media Kola Ilori and Director of Operations and Strategy, Dr. Tunde Amusat calling on all election stakeholders to maintain peace in the interest of the masses.
Hon. Olatoye Sugar who is a member of the National Assembly and the Chairman, House Committee on Urban and Regional Development in House of Representatives, Abuja decried the series of pre-election activities as uncalled for if democracy will thrive in Nigeria.
The lawmaker in the statement condemned any action capable of destroying lives and properties and encouraged the electorate to be law abiding citizens before, during and after the election.
The federal lawmaker representing Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency maintained that the whole world is watching a particular process of Ekiti election saying that all hands must be on deck to ensure free, fair, credible and globally acceptable poll.
He implored all Security agencies to live up to expectations by being loyal to their constitutional responsibilities of protecting lives and properties of the citizens.
Hon. Sugar particularly advised the youths in Ekiti state not to make themselves available to be used as an instrument by the politicians to disrupt the electoral processes as such politicians have their own children abroad who will come tomorrow and rule them in the later years if proper care is not taken.
He urged the good people of Ekiti to go out and perform their civic responsibility by electing a candidate of their choice.
