Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN), has charged Nigerians in general, and Christians particularly, not to lose hope in these troubled times, occasioned by the raging Coronavirus pandemic, rather they’re encouraged to keep hope alive, believing that with God, all things are possible;
Lanlehin, in an Easter commemorative message, enjoined Christians to take solace in the fact that Easter, which represents the victory of Christ over death, is enough testimony that the world will overcome this scourge, in the shortest possible time, and regain victory over this mortal foe;
“With recoveries by persons who hitherto tested positive for the virus, and the commitment from government to curtail further spread, I see light at the end of this tunnel”, Lanlehin said;
Senator Lanlehin (SOLAN), while affirming that COVID-19 has no known cure, or vaccine yet, nonetheless admonished Nigerians to maintain standard personal hygiene, which includes regular washing of hands with soap and water, or alcohol-based hand sanitizer, covering of nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or flexed elbow when coughing or sneezing, as well as social distancing, embodied in the avoidance of close contact with others, usually up to 1meter/3feet in public places, coupled with avoidance of large gatherings, which could foster community transmission;
Also, Lanlehin advised persons who feel symptoms like cough, fever or shortness of breath, especially those who have recent travel history, or those who have been in contact with them, to immediately isolate, as they make concrete efforts to contact the necessary health authorities;
The ex-Oyo South Senator and governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2019 polls, reiterated the need for all and sundry to rally round government, both at the national and sub-national levels, as well as the health authorities, and health workers at the frontlines, to ensure Nigeria pulls off this raging debilitating health crisis in the nick of time;
He consequently wished all Christians, and Nigerians, a joyous Easter celebration, praying that this pandemic would be a thing of the past in no distant time, and that the world would be able to return to a life of peace, devoid of apprehension.
