The outgone year 2017 ended on a sad note for families and members of Fresh FM as a drunk driver allegedly knocked down a popular newscaster- Olufemi Oluwajobi on December 31st.
Popularly called Radio MD (music dynamite), the on air personality was said to be on his way to join some waiting friends at Palms Mall, venue of Ibadan Countdown when he was mauled by a drunk and reckless driver.
According to PmParrot report, he was said to have been rushed to the University Teaching Hospital where he eventually gave up the ghost.
It was also gathered that Femi left his car at home because of traffic and wanted to board a bike to Ring road before he was knocked down while waiting for a bike.
Source said: “The reckless driver was drunk and he was said to have killed another person at Orita before police from Felele Police Station eventually arrested him”.
Femi was said to be an open hearted, humble and hardworking media practitioner during his lifetime,
Some of Oluwajobi’s colleagues and friends described him as a core professional and responsible fellow whose life is worthy of emulation.
His remains will be buried on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Sango Cemetery in Ibadan.
The deceased is survived by his wife and children.
