The ruling party in Oyo state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that governor Seyi Makinde’s one year in office was filled with record breaking achievements and landslide success considering the sorry state of the state everything were when its government took over from last administration.
The Oyo state PDP in a press statement jointly signed by the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Kinmi Mustapha, the state secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, and the state publicity secretary, Engr Akeem Olatunji, stated that the present administration under governor Makinde has critically implemented and executed impactful policies on its core priorities as outlined in the governor’s blueprint when he was sworn in as the executive governor of the state.
The ruling party stated further that it was easy for anyone or political party to embark on media campaign targeted at mischief making adding that the feedback from people will always be the determinant factor to know if a government is doing well or not.
According to the statement, governor Makinde during his inauguration stressed unequivocally that his administration aimed at repositioning the state from the woods it was stuck in through free and quality education, quality healthcare system, development of critical infrastructures, as well as economic development using agricultural revolution as a strategic approach.
The party added that considering the success recorded in education sector in terms of enrollment in public schools and availability of learning materials and teaching aids, physical infrastructures such as road constructions and rehabilitation, lightning of the city, implementation of new security architecture, the huge investment in public healthcare particularly in combating the global pandemic etc. the PDP administration in Oyo state has greatly delivered on its campaign promises.
“It is with great pride and honour we made bold to declare that the PDP government in Oyo state under the leadership of governor Seyi Makinde has delivered on its campaign promises but we are not unmindful of the fact that the task ahead is greater so we are committed to do even more.
“When our amiable governor took over leadership of the state from the last administration under, his policy direction and core priorities were clearly outlined and articulated without any ambiguity therefore, it is within the scope of the core priorities we proudly present our unrivaled achievements within just one year in office.
“We as a political party understands that playing opposition comes with a heavy burden of trying to downplay the success of a performing government such as the PDP administration in Oyo state, but then our success story spans far above sponsored media campaigns as it was applicable in the last eight years, ours is simply government with human face where the people continually feel impacts of government policies in their lives and wellbeing.
The statement described governor Makinde as a silent achiever whose achievements in the face of a turbulent year of combating a never seen before global threat to public health spanned across all critical sectors adding that feedback from the people as against sponsored media campaign would be the determinant factor to know if government was getting it right with its priorities.
Oyo state PDP reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to welfare of the people and make life more comfortable through open, transparent, and proactive approach to governance with human face devoid of all forms of dictatorial and draconian tendencies.
