The letter read in full: “I write formally, on behalf of the State Chairman, to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated December 6, 2023 but which was delivered to the Oke-Ado, Ibadan Secretariat of Oyo APC on December 7, 2023 in which you communicated your intention and plans to return to our great Party as a new member from the Accord Party on which platform you contested the 2023 gubernatorial poll as a candidate.

“First and foremost, we use this medium to congratulate you again on your appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR as the Minister of Power and also wish you success in your new Office in view of the fact that Nigeria urgently requires a turnaround in its power sector to drive the economy and also improve the lives of the teeming population of citizens and residents.

“Be that as it may; we are elated to inform you that on behalf of all the stakeholders and supporters of our great Party, the Executive Committees of the APC at all levels in the state welcome your decision to return to the Progressive fold as it is a pointer to the fact that our reconciliation drive has further yielded a positive result even as we expect more relevant political players to toe the same line for us to have a stronger and more formidable Oyo APC.

“However, we regret to inform you that the State Chairman is currently on a medical trip to the United States and he would not be back before the December 15, 2023 date which you have picked for the Ceremony. But if the date is deemed sacrosanct, we can assure you that other relevant members of the State Working Committee would be on ground to receive you as requested.
