Senator Riliwan Soji Akanbi, representing Oyo South senatorial district and Senator Fatai Buhari, representing Oyo North senatorial district yesterday, visited the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
This visit is coming after 14 senators including Senator Monsura Sunmonu, representing Oyo North senatorial district dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress. Soji Akanbi who was earlier listed among the Senators who dumped the APC debunked the reports, stating that he still remains with the APC.
Fatai Buhari and Soji Akanbi joined governor Abiola Ajimobi to celebrate one of his Senior Special Assistants, Mr Dayo Iyaniwura who marked his birthday yesterday.
This was made known in a release obtained by InsideoOYO.com. It reads “Governor Abiola Ajimobi Celebrates his SSA Mr.Dayo Iyaniwura with a cake on his birthday today.
“Happy birthday Mr. Dayo. H.E was joined by Senator Soji Akanbi and Sen. Fatai Buhari.”

The lawmakers include Rabi’u Kwankwaso (Kano-Central), Dino Melaye (Kogi-West), Monsurat Sunmonu (Oyo-Central), Rafiu Ibrahim (Kwara-South), Suleiman Hunkuyi (Kaduna-North), and Lanre Tejuoso (Ogun-Central).
Others are Usman Nafada (Gombe), Ibrahim Dambaba (Sokoto), Mohammed Shittu (Jigawa) Isa Misau (Bauchi) Suleiman Nazif (Bauchi) Shaaba Lafiagi (Kwara) and Barnabas Gemade (Benue).
Also, Senator Abdul-Azeez Murtala-Nyako (Adamawa) who had earlier dumped the APC for the African Democratic Congress, also formalised his defection.
