Bolaji Tunji, the media aide to former Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi has dismissed news about the death of his principal.
Mr. Tunji, in a Facebook post on Thursday, advised Nigerians to dismiss the news, describing it as rumours.
“Kindly disregards all rumours, just rumours. In all, we remain prayerful, he posted.
He also told PUNCH that he spoke with those around him not long ago and they confirmed to him that he was still alive.
News about the death of Ajimobi who is battling coronavirus spreads on Thursday afternoon across Oyo and Nigeria. Unconfirmed reports said the former Governor died on Thursday afternoon.
The ex-governor was reportedly receiving coronavirus treatment at an undisclosed place in Lagos.
Ajimobi has been the option for the All Progressives Congress, APC chairmanship seat after a court affirmed the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole over lingering Edo crisis.
