Ibarapa youths have wished the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Seun Fakorede speedy recovery as he confirmed being positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Ibarapa-born 28 year old Commissioner, Fakorede alongside two other executive members of the Governor Seyi Makinde’s led government tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19 virus recently.
The youths under the umbrella of Ibarapa Youths Vanguard in a statement jointly signed by its Coordinator, Ojebola Opeoluwa and Secretary, Ogunjimi Sunday also wished all infected persons speedy recovery.
According to the Statement made available to InsideOyo.com on Monday in Ibadan, the group urged people of Ibarapa to pray fervently for those infected in Ibarapaland, Oyo State and even Nigeria which including the young Commissioner.
“Our Brother Fakorede who alongside two other members of the people’s Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde’s cabinet tested positive is a sensible and courageous young man.
“While sympathising with him and all those infected, we pray for their speedy recovery. To us, being infected is not a death sentence when detected and properly attended to,” it said.
It called on the people to adhere strictly to all guidelines reeled out by health professionals and comply with government directives.
“We urged the people to maintain social distancing, wash their hands regularly anf make use of alcohol based hand sanitizers,” it said.
