The lawmaker representing Iseyin /Itesiwaju State Constituency in the Oyo State House Of Assembly, Hon Dele Adeola, in his bid to continually protect the interest of the people of his constituency has embarked on the distribution of hand sanitizers and other disinfectants as well as rigorous sensitization to contain the further spread of COVID-19.
The distribution exercise which started in Iseyin was followed by mass sensitization of people on the need to maintain proper hygiene and adhere strictly to the precautions given out by health practitioners and government at all levels.
While distributing the disinfectants, Adeola who is also the Chairman House Committee on Lands and Housing maintained that it is the duty of every good political officeholder to associate him/herself with the people who gave out their mandate to such person during this period.
He said “I have always been associating myself with my people before I was elected and after the election. In the twilight of my administration, I have been able to spread dividends of democracy in both active representation and developmental projects- materials and immaterials across the nook and cranny of my constituency despite the limited resources we have.
“Earlier yesterday, we kickstarted the construction of Aso-Ofi Ultra modern building in Iseyin and will continue to do more.
“Humanity should be the first priority of all political office holders particularly at a trying time of pandemic Coronavirus like this that was why I deemed it fit to distribute hand sanitizers, gloves, face masks and some other preventive materials for my people being part of the allegiance I owe them to ensure their safety at all time and I will continue to appreciate their support for the mandate given to me”
The kind gesture by the honourable was received by the people of his constituency amidst accolades and cheers and was advised to continue his good work he is known for.
