Oyo state has recorded sixteen (16) confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to new data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
With this new figure, the total number of cases in Oyo has climbed to 334, InsideOyo.com gathered.

On Friday night, the centre announced 16 new cases for Oyo as total cases of coronavirus hit 11,844. Accordingly, the country has discharged, 3,696 and recorded 333 deaths.

To ramp up testings, the Oyo State Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) for COVID-19, has kicked off community-based testing drive in Ibadan, the state capital.
According to the government, the community-based testing approach is in line with the commitment of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force, headed by the governor, to ramp up testing for COVID-19 in the state.
The state government said it had been able to increase capacity for testing with the setting up of the Diagnostic Centre at the Virology Department, University College Hospital, Ibadan, and the Drive-Through/Walk-Through Testing, organised at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, in collaboration with a Non-Governmental Organisation.
The community-based testing, which is expected to take place across 10 LGAs, is expected to increase the state’s testing capacity,.
