The Aare of Ofiki Land, Alayeluwa Oba Adeoye Gbenga Adigun Oyinlola II JP has lauded the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde over plans to contruct and open rural roads through Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) initiative.
The monarch stated this in a statement made available to Insideoyo.com on Wednesday afternoon.
While lauding Governor Makinde, he urged the Governor to consider Agunrege–Owo–Irawo, Agoare–Ofiki and Ofiki–Igbojaiyeroads in the RAAMP initiative.
His words: “Today, I feel highly elated upon His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde official announcement plans to construct, open up Rural Roads through RAAMP Initiative.
“He is rural friendly and lover of development. The declaration is the best action towards ensuring food security in the face of recession threat by the pandemic.
“I urge His Excellency to consider Agunrege – Owo- Ofiki – Irawo, and Agoare – Ofiki- Budo Aare- Igbojaiye komu roads respectfully. These are roads open to the vast farmlands to the Forest Reserve to Okpara River Benin republic where most of the yams, cassava, yam flower, maize, tomatoes, pepper and lifestocks are been transported to the main markets.
“Also this road network connect to our respective mining sites.
“It will be my greatest joy if these roads are approved among the roads to be constructed under RAAMP and other development initiatives.
“Ofiki is unarguably one of the Virgin unexplored land full of mineral resources and arable land for farming. I want to seize the opportunity to appreciate the Caretaker committee Chairmen for the grading of some roads.
“I want to also implore the Chairman of OYSROMA and his Board members to pay oversight visit of the roads. When these roads are constructed there will be rapid Development and improvement in rural transportation that would result in economic and social development.”
