Community leaders from Kajola and Iwajowa Local Government Areas of Oyo State have openly applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for once again demonstrating decisive and people-oriented leadership with the successful completion of the direct dedicated 33KVA Iseyin–Okeho power line, a critical infrastructure that has brought renewed hope to communities that suffered near-total blackout for several years.
The leaders also commended the Minister of Power, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, describing him as a dependable and results-driven appointee whose commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has translated into tangible benefits for grassroots communities in Oyo State.
For many years, residents of Kajola and Iwajowa local government areas were subjected to prolonged darkness, a situation that crippled local businesses, discouraged investment, and undermined economic development. The completion of the 33KVA line is, therefore, being hailed as a historic federal intervention that underscores the present administration’s resolve to correct long-standing infrastructural neglect.
The commendation was contained in a joint political statement issued by influential stakeholders across Kajola and Iwajowa Local Government Areas and made available to newsmen .
Among the signatories are the Chief Financial Officer of FGN Power Company Limited, Hon. Kola Olabiyi; former Chairman of Kajola Local Government, Hon. Isiaka Olalekan Salami (Obè); former Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government, Hon. Lateef Gbadamosi; APC chieftain, Hon. Sola Ogunbode; Chairman of Ègbé Omo-Ibile Òkehò, Dr. Kasali Salawu Adesola; and Chairman of the Electricity Committee for Kajola and Iwajowa Local Governments, Mr. Sikiru Ismail Lawoya.
According to the leaders, the Iseyin–Okeho electrification project stands as clear evidence that President Tinubu’s administration is committed to inclusive governance, fairness, and the equitable spread of federal infrastructure, particularly to historically underserved communities.
“This project is not just about electricity; it is about restoring dignity, economic relevance, and political inclusion to our people,” the statement declared. “It affirms that under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, no community is forgotten.”
The leaders noted that stable electricity will empower artisans, traders, farmers, and small-scale industrialists, stimulate job creation, reduce rural-urban migration, and reposition the area as a viable economic hub.
While celebrating the milestone, the leaders called on the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) to immediately fulfil its responsibility by connecting the completed infrastructure to the national grid, stressing that any delay would undermine the noble efforts of the Federal Government.
They reaffirmed their unflinching support for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging continued loyalty and cooperation with policies and programmes that advance development and improve the welfare of Nigerians.
The statement concluded with prayers for President Tinubu and Minister Adelabu, wishing them wisdom, strength, and continued success as they steer the nation towards sustainable growth and national prosperity.
