The wife of the Oyo state governor, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde has, on Sunday hosted children at a Christmas party, urging them to be kind to themselves particularly during this Christmas season.
The wife of Governor who spoke at the open ground of Agodi Gardens, Ibadan, Oyo state capital before a large gathering of children who had unlimited fun and played several games.
She said: “I am so happy to see your beautiful faces today. I appreciate your parents for bringing you to this place to celebrate Christmas together.
“I want you all to enjoy your Christmas celebration, take this season to relax, enjoy your holiday, relax and have fun.”
Presenting gifts to the children, Mrs Makinde called on the parents to continue to raise the children so that they can become responsible citizens in future.
She said: “I want you all to be a good model to this children so that they can become an adult to be proud of. You should all guide the children so that they will become the good things we want them to be”.
She also wished all the children and their parents a peaceful and wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. She prayed that the young children would be greater than their parents.
While responding to the kind gestures of the Governor’s wife, one of the children, Ayomide Ola said: “I thank the Governor’s wife for giving us gift. May God bless her”
Another child, Akinola Martins said: “I want to appreciate Mrs Makinde for giving us this gift. Merry Christmas to her.”
Some of the games played at the event includes dancing completion, playing in the circle, passing the ball and others.
Dignitaries present at the Christmas Party includes the wife of the Deputy Governor Of the State, Mrs Ajibola Ajibike Lawal, the Secretary to the state government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, Commissioner for Special duties, Alhaja Joke Sanni, Wives of local government chairmen among others
