A former commissioner for works and transport in Oyo State, Alhaji Yunus Akintunde has said that the return of President Muhammadu Buhari to Nigeria after 103 days of medical leave is a good thing for the country.
This is just as he expressed gratitude to God for answering the prayers of Nigerians. He also thanked Nigerians for staying firm while the president was away, adding that Nigeria is on the path of greatness.
According to Akintunde, “we have to continuously pray for our leaders. There is no person that is immuned against sickness. The work of a president or governor is enormous; they also need a deserved rest when it is needed.
“Nigeria and Nigerians should however be grateful that our party- the All Progressives Congress, APC, chose the right combination. Professor Yemi Osinbajo is a fantastic man; his loyalty to whatever he commits himself to remains intact. Maybe that was why Asiwaju Bola Tinubu never had a second thought before recommending him for the job,” he explained.
He, however, advised Buhari against rushing to work, adding that he needs time to know what has been done and the way to go.
