Oyo state has recorded two new confirmed cases of coronavirus, one discharged, according to the Nigeria Center for Diseases Control (NCDC).
The country recorded thirty-five new cases of COVID-19 pandemic on Thursday.
The details of the new cases below:
19 in Lagos
9 in FCT
5 in Kano
2 in Oyo
As at 10:20 pm 16th April there are 442 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. 152 have been discharged with 13 deaths.
Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, in a series of tweets, on Thursday, said one confirmed COVID-19 patient was discharged after receiving their second negative test result.
This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to seven.
“As reported earlier, one case was transferred to Lagos. So, there are currently five active cases in the state, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the state to 13.” he said.

On Wednesday, Governor Seyi Makinde volunteered to donate his blood for research to find cure to the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to him, his blood will be studied by experts for the evaluation of post infection protection against the coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.
While canvassing for local solutions, the state also kicked off a rapid testing initiative for COVID-19 in order to contain the spread of the virus. The COVID-19 Drive-Through/Walk-Through Testing is an initiative that is expected to test 2,000 samples within two weeks, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
