Oyo state House of Assembly has approved the request of Governor Seyi Makinde to extend the tenure of all the local government caretaker chairmen and sole administrators of local council development areas in the state for another period of six months.
The Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin during Friday’s plenary read a letter from the Governor Seyi Makinde requesting the renewal of tenure for the council bosses.
Also, the chairman House Committee on Local Government Matters, Hon Ademola Popoola read the committee’s report on financial activities of the council heads in the last six month.
Insideoyo.com gathered that Popoola also urged the assembly to approve the request.
With this, the council bosses are expected to remain in office for another six months.
Last December, the Assembly revealed a total of 68 person selected by Governor Makinde out of which 33 were caretakers for local government and 35 names for the newly created LCDAs.
