Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has been thrown into mourning as the Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, Dr. Femi Olaifa is dead.
According to a source who confirmed the ?story to insideoyo.com, Olaifa passed on at University College Hospital, UCH, last night.
Late High Chief Olufemi Olaifa was part of the chiefs elevated by Oba Saliu Adetunji Ajeogungunniso in May 2016, as part of his first assignment as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland in accordance with Ibadan chieftaincy law system.
He was promoted from Osi Balogun to Otun Balogun of Ibadanland.
Others promoted key were high Chief Owolabi Olakunlehin who moved from Otun Balogun to Balogun of Ibadanland; High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola took a step from Asipa Balogun to Osi Balogun of Ibadanland; High Chief Solomon Adabale from Ekerin Balogun to Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland among others.
Oba Adetunji was the Balogun of Ibadanland until March 4, 2016 when he was coronated as the new Olubadan, after the demise of Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade who joined his ancestors on January 19th this year at the age of 101.
