Ademola Babalola popularly known as Dembab has emerged as the chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ).
The election was held on Wednesday in Ibadan, the state capital.
Babalola whose campaign slogan is “Pepper Them” defeated the incumbent chairman Adewunmi Faniran with a wide margin.
Babalola scored 176 votes while Faniran scored 06 votes
Announcing the result of the election, the Chairman, electoral committee, said all the elected officers emerged having satisfied the electoral process by scoring the highest number of votes in the election.
He has been sworn in alongside other members of his team by Barrister Adebayo Salawu.
Others elected with him are Mr Sola Oladapo was elected secretary of the union with 175 votes to beat Bola Ogunlayi who scored 10 votes.
Mr Akeem Abas of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) polled 167 votes to defeat Mrs Oyebusola Adetunji who had 18 votes.
