The people of Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo federal constituency of Oyo State are in for a good moment as the lawmaker who represents the zone in the House of Representatives, Barr. Olatubosun Oladele is set to handover projects worth several millions of naira to various communities.
Only last week, the lawmaker, who is a former commissioner in the state, inspected newly drilled boreholes and other projects, which were scattered in all the communities of the three local government areas.
According to him, apart from the over 20 boreholes he has drilled, he decided to settle for handpumps in some villages and settlement because of lack of electricity to power motorised ones.
Hon. Oladele also disclosed that the new skill acquisition centres is almost complete while the delivery of computer sets for the proposed ICT Centres in Igbeti, Kisi and Igboho has been formalised.
“The gesture is part of our contributions towards the provision of quality and portable water to our people, most especially those residing in less city, villages and settlements where there is no means of getting quality water at all. It is also in line with our decision to always attract laudable projects to our constituency.
“The projects includes the construction of twenty (20) new hand pump boreholes and for record purpose, we also repaired more than fifteen (15) existing ones facilitated by former legislators and stakeholders within our constituency. We settled for hand pump boreholes in most villages due to the unavailability of electricity in the villages involved and to disallow any form of exploitation under the disguise of maintaining the pumps.
“In addition to that, the construction of the new skill acquisition centre where our youths and unemployed graduates can be trained on any vocation of their choice is at the last stage. Anytime soon, we shall take the delivery of Computer sets for the ICT Centres to be situated in Kisi, Igboho and Igbeti,” he added
