Bonuola Vanguard, a socio-political movement founded by the late Senator Robert Bonuola Koleosho and now led by Hon. Adekunle Koleosho, has congratulated former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, on his emergence as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State.
The group, whose members span Saki, the Oke-Ogun axis, and other parts of Oyo State, described Adeyemo’s emergence as a defining moment for the progressive family, insisting that the party must seize the opportunity to rebuild, reconcile, and reposition itself ahead of future political contests.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by its current leader, Hon. Adekunle Koleosho, Bonuola Vanguard said the new chairman’s experience and long-standing commitment to progressive politics would help reposition the APC in the state.
He said: “On behalf of Bonuola Vanguard and our members across Oke-Ogun and beyond, we heartily congratulate His Excellency, Moses Alake Adeyemo, on his well-deserved emergence as Oyo APC Chairman. This is a call to service at a crucial time in our party’s history.”
The group also said it congratulates Oke-Ogun in general, stressing that the Oke-Ogun people should not see the chairmanship position as a threat or hindrance to aspiring to attain the governorship ambition simply because the chairman of the party now comes from their region.
According to the statement: “We want to assure our people in Oke-Ogun that having the party chairman from our region does not in any way diminish our right or capacity to still produce a governor. The political future of our zone remains open and achievable with unity and strategic engagement.”
The group noted that Adeyemo’s experience as Deputy Governor under the late former Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, as well as his long-standing involvement in progressive politics, places him in a strong position to foster unity and rebuild confidence within the party’s rank and file.
Bonuola Vanguard further urged APC leaders and members across all 33 local government areas to close ranks and give the new chairman the needed support to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure.
Reaffirming its commitment to the political ideals and legacy of the late Senator Robert Bonuola Koleosho, the group emphasized that the moment calls for discipline, inclusiveness, and collective responsibility.
It added that with the right leadership and unity of purpose, the APC in Oyo State can regain its political footing and offer a compelling alternative to the electorate in the coming years.
