The people of Ibarapa North Local Government and the Ibarapa North West Local Council Development Area, Igangan are about to have a sigh of relief as Officials of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC held an enlarged meeting with the Managements and the top notch of the two Councils where issues relating to erratic power outage were discussed.
It was noted that for almost six months, the Local Governments have been in total darkness occasioned by inefficient power generation, transmission, distribution and lack of sufficient work force for the energy Companies.
The Council Chairmen, Hon. Shittu Ololade and his counterpart, Honourable Okediji Daniel O, Caretaker Chairman Ibarapa North West LCDA assured the residents of improved power supply henceforth as all the bottlenecks that may hinder the supply will be given proper and prompt attention to.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by Oyaremi Nike, the council’s Information Officer, Hon Ololade enjoined the three major towns stalwarts present to sensitize the community people on prompt payment of their bills.
Reacting to the questions from the attendees, Mr Oluseye Ige who is the Overall Manager of IBEDC Ibarapa Zone promised the residents of their unalloyed support and therefore appealed to them to be wary of any infringement on any IBEDC property in their vicinities.
According to the Information Officer, resolution reached at the meeting included request for prepaid meters and Vending centres, appointment of Electricity committee to support the IBEDC where necessary, provision of IBEDC Customer care centre in the zone and adequate attention given to the Flash -point areas and the host of others.
