Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran Celebrated for His Legacy of Service and Leadership
Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), has been celebrated for his remarkable legacy of service and leadership.
On his birthday, Amofin Beulah Adeoye, a close friend and admirer, paid tribute to Dr. Adeniran’s extraordinary contributions to Oyo State and beyond.
According to Amofin Beulah Adeoye, Dr. Adeniran’s leadership style is characterized by his humility, integrity, and commitment to serving others. “He is a servant-leader in the truest sense—one who leads from the front, but is equally willing to lift from behind,” Adeoye said.
Dr. Adeniran’s achievements in public service are indeed profound. As Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, he transformed the state’s education system, clearing salary backlogs, renovating schools, and reintroducing open-day policies. Under his stewardship, Oyo State’s basic education ranking jumped from 27th to 11th nationally.
As Executive Chairman of OYOSUBEB, Dr. Adeniran has continued to make a positive impact, recruiting over 7,000 teachers and 1,000 caregivers, and transforming classrooms across urban and rural Oyo State. His commitment to educational reform and development has earned him recognition and respect from his peers and the public.
Dr. Adeniran’s contributions extend beyond education. He has also made a significant impact in the Muslim community, revitalizing the OYOSUBEB mosque, instituting regular Friday prayers, and hosting statewide Ramadan lectures.
In a heartfelt tribute, Amofin Beulah Adeoye described Dr. Adeniran as a “moral compass” and a “light” who has touched every corner of Oyo State with intention and compassion.
“You have given so much to your people, your faith, and your nation,” Adeoye said. “May history remember you as you are remembered today—not merely as a man of power, but as a man of peace.”
