Bimbo Kolade, a former Oyo State Commissioner and current federal commissioner has called for peace among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state.
Kolade made this call at the Oyo Zone of the All Progressives Congress’ monthly meeting on Monday at the Fiditi club hall, Fiditi.
The meeting also coincided with the former Oyo State Commissioner’s annual new year celebrations, and had in attendance hundreds of party stalwarts from across the zone, Chaired by Akin Ojebode
In his submission, during the meeting that lasted several hours, Honourable Asimiu Alarape, the current Minority Leader at the OYHA frowned at the present selection of party members for federal appointments, explaining that members who had been consistent in their loyalty and labor for the party and largely qualified were left out.
Other Speakers at the meeting were Elder S.M Akindele and Hon Leke Oyatokun.
Akindele called on the leader of the party in the state, former Oyo Governor Abiola Ajimobi to do more in uniting the party.
While Hon Leke Oyatokun, a former member of the OYHA eulogized the present members of the party in the state assembly for their roles during the controversial screening of the caretaker nominees, another Chieftain of the party, Prince Olanite commended the state ALGON for their handling of the issues revolving around LG elections and administration in the state.
Others called for concerted efforts, especially between party chieftains and their elected public office holders, at ensuring that the lost glory of the party in the state was restored. Stating that the Oyo central Senatorial district was strategic for the re-emergence of the party.
Kolade admonished members not to relent in their efforts at fostering peace and progress within the party.
Reacting to the issue of federal appointments, Kolade appealed to the elders of the zone to embrace dialogue with party leaders at the state level.
Amongst felicitators at the New year celebration were party Chairmen, council chairmen and councilors from across Oyo central senatorial district.
