A socio-political group, Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide has commiserated with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, over the demise of his uncle, Engr. Benedict Ogunwusi who died on Thursday.
The late politician, though an Ife man, was the immediate past chairman of the Oyo State Tourism Board and one of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Egbeda local government.
Oba Adeyeye was said to have lived with the 68-year-old late engineer why studying in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
A statement by the group’s national publicity secretary, Samuel Oloyede, prayed God to give Oba Adeyemi, the group’s grand patron, and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The statement reads: Death is irreversible as mortal but our consolation is the fact that Prince Ogunwusi played his part well and his contributions will live , even long after him.
“Kabiyesi, Your Majesty’s resolve on Yoruba unity and the displays of forbearance on this cause are exemplary, legendary to all Omoluabis in Yoruba land. We urge Your Imperial Majesty to be steadfast and resolute on this arduous task of liberating Yoruba nation, it added.
