The Chairman of the Oyo State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board Sheik Wahab Atere was honoured and presented an Award of Excellence in respect of successful 2024 Hajj Exercise in Mecca by the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, Radio and Television theater arts workers Union RATTAWU.
The award is coming hours after Governor Seyi Makinde openly commended Sheik Wahab Atere at the Hijra 1446 celebration put together by the state government.
Presenting the award of excellent to sheik Wahab Atere, the chairman of the BCOS Mrs Dotun Olaitan said the 2024 hajj exercise was free of rancour and glitches which is an hallmark of service delivery.
In his address the Chairman of BCOS RATTAWU Com. Kolapo Carew who was part of the 2024 holy pilgrimage to Mecca said the Chairman, Sheik Wahab Atere and other board members were good Ambassador of the state that truly represented Governor Makinde in the holy land.
Com. Carew added that the 2024 hajj exercise distinguished Oyo state from other states of the country in terms of preparation.
Receiving the award the Oyo State Chairman of Muslim Pilgrim welfare board Sheik Wahab Atere dedicated the award to Governor Seyi Makinde, the chief Imam of Ibadanland, Pilgrim board members and the muslim community in the state for there prayer and support.
Sheik Atere assured prospective muslim pilgrim for 2025 hajj exercise of better preparation and logistics with the support of Governor Makinde.
Sheik Wahab Atere was accompanied to the award presentation by Dr. Ibrahim Adelani founder CEO BN Ballo Charity foundation, the secretary of the State Muslim Pilgrim welfare board Alh. Kamarudeen Fasaasi and host of others.
