He seized the opportunity of the visit to dispel the rumours making the rounds that he was going to withdraw all the vehicles he procured for the election from the party.

“I’m a loyal party man and I don’t go back when I’ve given my words.

“I don’t intend to go into transport business. The vehicles are for the party and they remain as such,” he reiterated.

Adelabu who was accompanied on the visit by three members of Friends of Bayo Adelabu Campaign Organization (FOBACO), Alh. Yahaya Busari, Olusegun Olalere and Dr. Bayo Busari also used the opportunity to call on the party to think towards restructuring and work on expanding its membership base.

He also called for a genuine reconciliation of all interest groups who were aggrieved during the election, especially the progressives.

“We should be ready to pocket our pride so that the party can make meaningful progress ahead of the next election year,” he said.

He also used the visit to inform the party executives of his plan to embark on a thank-you visit across all the local governments in the state in due course.

Chief Oke expressed his happiness that the party’s gubernatorial candidate did the party proud at the election.

“You were a worthy ambassador of the party and we had no regrets that you flew the flag of the party. We’re very proud of you and the way you campaigned vigorously during the run up to the election,” Chief Oke said.

He admonished Adelabu to remain steadfast and to continue to make himself available to all and sundry within the party.

Other members of the executive committee who took turns to speak eulogised Adelabu for being a dogged fighter and for running issue-based campaign throughout the period of electioneering.

The executive committee, while commending him for the visit expressed its support for him whenever he was ready to embark on the thank-you visit.

On hand to receive Adelabu and his team were the APC state chairman, Chief Akin Oke, the party’s state secretary, Hon. Mojeed Olaoya, the publicity secretary, Dr. Abdul Azeez as well as the party’s legal adviser, Woman and Youth Leaders among others.
