Oyo NIPR Mourns Oloye Lekan Alabi, Describes His Death As Monumental Loss To PR Profession

Businessman and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo state, Dr. Olusola Ayandele (Eruobodo), has described the victory of the former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the just concluded Special Convention/Presidential Primary of the APC as an indication that Nigeria still stood a good chance of realizing the goals of greatness, stability and prosperity.

Tinubu, who is the national leader of the ruling party, was declared the winner of the presidential primary election held last Tuesday and Wednesday at the Eagle Square, Abuja when he polled a total of 1,271 votes to defeat other aspirants which include the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and the immediate past Minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, among others.

In a statement which he personally signed and made available to journalists in Ibadan on Friday, Dr. Ayandele expressed delight at his personal involvement in the the process which gave victory to Tinubu who, he noted, deserves to earn the mandate to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in office in 2023 in view of his track record, patriotic zeal and competence.

“All the delegates to the just concluded APC’s presidential election primary who gave their votes to Sen. Bola Tinubu have written their names in gold. Another set of heroes are those who stood their ground against all the evil plots to stop him (Tinubu) from clinching the ticket even though, his opponents knew he was the most deserving and most qualified to lead Nigeria from May 29, 2023.

“The outcome of the exercise was predictable as it was expected of the majority of the voting delegates to cast their ballot for Asiwaju Tinubu who is widely seen as not only a national figure but also an experienced democrat and patriotic administrator. As his proud admirer, I was able to utilize my delegate status to mobilize other delegates and I am elated it all ended as desired because we believe a Tinubu presidency would completely take Nigeria out of the woods and thus restore her to the path of greatness.

“As a matter of fact, the landslide victory which Asiwaju recorded at the party primary is an eloquent testimony to his rating as the greatest Nigerian in this contemporary world. The way he went about his nationwide consultation and subtle campaign as well as the calibre of people who openly supported his ambition, within and outside the APC, indicated that he is the best man to take over from President Buhari in 2023.

“It is therefore imperative for all Nigerians to eschew all sentiments and support his efforts to win at the general poll coming up early next year. Lagos state which most of us are proud of today got transformed between 1999 and 2007 when Tinubu was the governor while those who came after him could not even discard the blueprint of sustainable development which he left behind after the expiration of his tenure. Now that he is older and more experienced, he is in a good position to change the store of Nigeria for good.” Ayandele stated.
