The umbrella body of the Tiv Community in Oyo state has elected Mr Ave Clement to pilot the affairs of Mzough U Tiv (sons and daughters of Tiv) Association for the next four years.
Clement who was elected unopposed during the quarterly meeting of the association held at Ighoho town hall, was the chairman for Akinyele branch of the association.
In his acceptance speech. Clement expressed his readiness to spearhead the launch of designated yam market in a strategic position within Ibadan metropolis, to serve as distribution point for yams imported from the middle belt region, thereby keying into the economic agenda of the present government in Oyo state.
He further affirmed his readiness to ensure greater cohesion of the sons and daughters of Tiv in Oyo state by liaising with government to provide the enabling environment for their businesses to thrive.
The Ave clement-led state executive committee will be inaugurated during the first quarterly meeting of the association for the year 2020 to be held in March.
