In a heartwarming display of kindness and generosity, the First Lady of ATISBO Local Government, Mrs. Nofisat Adeola Alade, has visited government-owned hospitals in the local government area to welcome babies born in the new year.
The visits were aimed at spreading joy and celebrating the arrival of the new babies, while also encouraging mothers to prioritize their health and the health of their newborns.
Mrs. Alade visited four hospitals, including Irawo Owode Primary Health Centre, Ago Are Model Primary Health Centre, Ago Are General Hospital, and Ago Are Primary Health Centre, where she met with the new mothers and their babies.
At each hospital, she donated baby hamper gifts and cash to the mothers, expressing her joy and congratulations to them.
At Irawo Owode Primary Health Centre, Mrs. Alade met a baby girl who weighed 2.5kg and was born at 1am. At Ago Are Model Primary Health Centre, she met another baby girl who also weighed 2.5kg and was born at 1.30am. She also visited Ago Are General Hospital, where she met a baby girl who weighed 2.4kg and was born at 9.15am, and Ago Are Primary Health Centre, where she met a baby boy who weighed 3.5kg and was born at 10.30am.
During her visits, Mrs. Alade emphasized the importance of exclusive breastfeeding, immunization, and postnatal clinic.
“I urge all mothers to ensure they breastfeed their babies exclusively for the first six months, and also ensure they immunize them against diseases,”
“Postnatal clinic is also very important, so please ensure you attend regularly.” She said.
Mrs. Alade expressed her joy and happiness at being able to visit the new mothers and babies. “I am so happy to be here today to celebrate with these new mothers and their babies,” she said. “I congratulate them and wish them all the best in this new year.”
The mothers were visibly happy and grateful for the visit and gifts from Mrs. Alade.
One of the mothers, who gave birth to a baby girl at Irawo Owode Primary Health Centre, said she was overwhelmed with joy. “I am so happy and grateful for this visit and gifts,” she said. “May God bless Mrs. Alade and her family.”
Mrs. Alade was accompanied by officials of the local government, who also expressed their congratulations to the new mothers and babies.
