The Chairman of ATISBO local government area of Oyo state, Alhaji Bashir Olumuyiwa Alade has commenced the grading of roads crucial to the economy of the local government.
Alade who was joined by traditional rulers flagged off the grading on Wednesday, in Ago Are.
He made this known in a statement on his official Facebook page.
He said the initiative is in fulfillment of one of his campaign promises while promising to fulfill other campaign promises.
The statement read: “Yesterday, we flagged off the grading of economic roads in ATISBO Local Government Area of Oyo State. During the ceremony, I expressed gratitude to the people of ATISBO LGA for their trust in us. This project fulfills one of our campaign promises to promote farming and make it easier for our people.
“With the rainy season ending, we’ve begun grading roads crucial to our economy. Our first phase focuses on the Ago Are to Ofiki and Ofiki to Owo roads, with other economic roads to follow.”
Notable attendees included the Vice Chairman, Hon. Sola Ogundiya; Secretary, Hon. Owolabi Johnson; Chief of Staff, Hon. Owolabi Eliasha Adegbite; and traditional rulers such as the Aare of Ago Are and Oloto of Ofiki.
Top government officials, including the HLGA and Acting Director of Works, were also present.
In a related development, traditional rulers in ATISBO local government have commended the chairman of the local government, Honourable Bashir Olumuyiwa Alade for his proactive approach towards security issues.
The traditional rulers who attended the Peace and Security meeting of the local government on Wednesday at the local government secretariat hailed the chairman for constructing Amotekun and Police posts, enhancing security officers’ welfare, equipping local vigilantes among others.
Notable personalities present at the meeting were the Vice chairman, Secretary to LGA, HLGA, DPO Tede, DPO Ago Are, Aare of Ago Are, Onitede of Tede, Representatives of SSS, Immigration, NSCDC, NDLEA, AMOTEKUN, CAN, Supreme Council among others.
